Entry Level (Code: 3902-08)

  • Remove & replace cycle wheels, tyres & tubes (1 credit)
  • Remove & replace cycle brake blocks (1 credit)
  • Clean & lubricate a chain (1 credit)
  • Remove and replace cycle saddles, seatposts and handlebars (1 credit)
  • Clean & prepare a cycle for use (1 credit)
  • Repair a puncture (1 credit)
  • Remove and replace a rim brake assembly (2 credit)
  • Remove and replace a cycle gear assembly (2 credit)
  • Carry out a systematic cycle check (1 credit)

5 credits are required to be completed from the list (trainee’s choice). This course can be done in one full day and costs £100 including VAT. A further £40 is payable to City & Guilds for certification.

Level 1 (Code: 3902-18)

  • Repair a cycle puncture (1 credit)
  • Remove and replace a rim brake assembly (2 credit)
  • Remove and replace a cycle gear assembly (2 credit)
  • Carry out a systematic cycle check (1 credit)
  • Remove and replace a tubular tyre and tubeless tyre (1 credit)
  • Remove and replace cycle braking systems (2 credit)
  • Remove and replace cycle gear systems (2 credit)
  • Remove and replace cycle hub bearings (2 credit)
  • Remove and replace cycle bottom brackets and cranks (2 credit)
  • True a cycle wheel (2 credit)
  • Prepare frames and forks for cycle assembly (1 credit)
  • Augment a cycle (2 credit)
  • Service cycle headset assemblies (2 credit)
  • Change a cycle frame (2 credit)

10 credits are required to be completed from the list (trainee’s choice). This course can be done in two full days and costs £200 including VAT. A further £40 is payable to City & Guilds for certification.

Level 2 (Code: 3902-28)

  • Repair a cycle puncture (1 credit)

  • Carry out a systematic cycle check (1 credit)
  • Remove and replace a tubular tyre and tubeless tyre(1 credit)
